Sixx and the Incubus: The Sidekick Chronicles Page 10
“Room… Bedroom,” I whispered, tugging my hands through his hair. He started moving that direction as soon as the words left my lips. I laughed at his eagerness. My anger was fleeing, softening. He came from a place of love.
Olezka carried me upstairs and strode to our room where he placed me gently on the bed. His hands roved over my body as if memorizing every dip and curve. A tingling sensation started from the crown of my head to the tips of my toes, and desire flared through me. He growled low in his chest, and hunger simmered in his gaze.
“That better be a good sound,” I whispered, placing a hand on his chest, trying to distract myself. With him wearing only his boxers, it felt like I’d never seen him this naked before even though it was how he slept at night. This felt different. Bigger. Every touch was different. More.
“My mate is gorgeous.” He paused. “Sixx.”
When he growled my name like that, it sent tendrils of live wires through my entire body.
“Oh, fudge,” I whispered as I looked on him with unbridled desire.
He groaned. “Tell me you want this, Sixx.”
“I want you. More than anything.”
He pounced and knocked me back on the bed where he cradled me against his solid body. I laughed at his eagerness, knowing I felt the same. When he hovered over me, my laughter cut short.
Desire darkened his eyes to a soft ember that reminded me of a simmering bonfire on the edge of summer at the cusp of fall. His beard and disheveled hair made him look wild and dangerous. A small smile teased my lips because I knew he was. I was well aware of the beast that lingered beneath his skin.
“How are you this handsome?”
He smiled and countered, “How did a male like me get so lucky?”
I waved my hand at him. “Enough sweet talk.” I rushed forward, capturing his lips with mine. He groaned, anchoring his hands on my hips. One crept upward. I reached around to unsnap my bra when my hand collided with his on the same mission. “Off, it needs to come off,” I panted.
“Da.”
Fudge.
“Oh, man, when you speak Russian…” I whispered.
Olezka chuckled then rattled off a litany of smooth Russian words and sounds, each note tripping into the next. He could have been saying anything. Heck, he could have been reciting his grocery list. It didn’t matter. I soaked in the cadence of his voice. We chucked my bra somewhere in the room to be found later – much, much later. He paused and said a word I recognized.
“Krasotka.”
Olezka cupped my breasts gently and brushed his fingers over my nipples, working them into tight buds. He leaned forward, his beard scraping deliciously against my skin. I panted but forgot to breathe when he captured one peak between his teeth. His extended canines pulled over my oversensitive skin. After that, my mind turned into mushy blissfulness.
I gripped his hair, holding on while my world tilted on its axis once again. Olezka growled, licking away the sting of his teeth. My heart slammed against my chest while my body tensed, waiting for the next onslaught.
Olezka gave its twin the same sensual treatment; all the while, my hips moved on their own, rubbing against his thigh, his member, anything I could touch. I felt wild and reckless, lost in this moment, lost in him. His scent overwhelmed me, filling me from the outside in. He was a heady drug of which I couldn’t seem to get enough.
“More,” I whispered.
“Khoroshaya devochka.”
I groaned in response because whatever he just muttered was dirty. It had to be because that tone was sinful. Like melted chocolate over raspberries, which was arguably the best fruit with chocolate. Ever.
My entire body felt hollow as he pulled away and stood at the edge of the bed. He tugged his boxers down, and his member stood straight, looking as needy as I felt. The sight was mind-boggling.
“Are you even going to fit?” I whispered mostly to myself.
Olezka smiled, beaming with masculine pride. “Do not fear, my small mate. We will make it work.”
I almost snorted out loud at the thought of me being considered small, but instead, I rolled up onto my knees. Even sitting up on the bed, I still only came to just under his chin. I reached forward to run my finger down the thick vein on the underside of his cock. I had never been this bold with my other partners, but with Olezka, it was easier to forget my flaws and push aside my insecurities.
Boldly, I cupped his balls and wrapped my fingers around his girth. He grunted as I tightened my hold.
“Oh my…” I whispered. My body reacted when I tugged upward, and his hips jerked forward in response. His eyes closed as if he was losing himself to his pleasure, and it was the sexiest thing I’d ever seen. It warmed me from the inside out—a different sort of warmth than the lusty heat that continuously swirled through me.
“Sixx,” he groaned.
I leaned forward and brushed my lips against the head of his cock. His eyes popped open, and he moaned loudly. He pulled back, gently pushing my hand away. When he leaned down to press his lips against mine, his hand found its way into my panties. I squeaked when his thick fingers brushed against the tight bundle of nerves. He swallowed the sound, and honest-to-God, like in books, ripped the undies from my body.
A little ouch but also stupid-hot.
“Oh, fuck,” I whispered.
“You owe a dollar.”
“I’m going to owe a whole lot of dollars,” I said, my eyelids drooping with desire.
Olezka smiled. “A fortune,” he argued.
Olezka lifted me as I wrapped my thighs loosely around his hips. His shaft rubbed between my thighs, making me pant heavily, and he paused in his movements.
“Okay…okay…” Gosh, he was big.
“Sixx.”
I blinked up at Olezka. No matter how eager we both were, he was in control of himself.
“Sexy time?” I half-smiled.
“Time to claim my mate,” he rumbled.
Oh. I liked that.
Olezka lifted me a little farther, a feat that seemed impossible, but not for him. He gripped his member, positioning himself. “Da?”
“Da. Da. Yes!” I nodded frantically. One side of his lips curled up into a smile, and he slowly started to lower me. As he entered me, stretching me in the most delicious ways, I began to feel lightheaded. I gripped his shoulders, my fingernails scoring his skin. He groaned and concentrated on moving slowly, but I urged him on.
Olezka eventually moved us back horizontal on the bed. His weight above me was comforting, and I met him thrust for thrust. He toyed with my body like he could read my mind. The heat from his skin scorched, making us both slick with sweat.
“Olezka,” I whispered as my body strung a little tighter, closer to that blissful release.
“Do not fear me, my mate.”
“Hmm, never.”
Olezka nuzzled my neck and pounded into me at a deeper angle that made me cry out.
So close.
Fucking hell, everything about him felt amazing. Then, as my climax started to crash over me, his teeth sank into the crook of my neck. The sharp pinch of pain quickly flooded away with pure pleasure. I might have screamed, unable to hold back. He pulled back and roared his release. Nothing was sexier than him losing his tightly reined control.

Groggy from sleep and blissfully sated, I rolled over to reach for Olezka and found his side of the bed was empty. I pulled the covers up to my chest and blinked, trying to see him. After our second round, my glasses had found their way to the nightstand. I didn’t think they would have withstood round three. My mate was insatiable, but I loved it. My cheeks burned as I thought about all of the things we had done tonight, yet it still didn’t feel like nearly enough.
“Shh, моя жизнь. Sleep. I will be back.”
That woke me up a little more. I blinked up at him, squinting when I couldn’t get a good fix on his face. “Where are you going?”
“I got a call. My team needs me. When
I get back, we will finish our discussion. I am not done with you,” he admonished.
For some reason, I didn’t think he meant in bed, which brought back some of my annoyance from earlier. I started to move off the bed. “I’ll come with you.”
“нет. You will remain here. Here, Sixx. Promise me.”
“Why can’t I come with you?”
“We just completed our mating; give me some time, da? I will be back.” He pressed a kiss to my forehead before leaving.
Chapter 14
Falling asleep after Olezka left proved to be next to impossible. If I knew for sure Roman hadn’t come back, I probably would have kept the comforter wrapped around my body as I moved through the house. But I very much did not want to show off my gently – heh – used body to my mate’s brother. Olezka’s mark barely even stung. In fact, it burned in a very pleasant way that reminded me of his flames and how they wrapped around me, comforting and keeping me safe.
I dressed in one of Olezka’s shirts and a pair of my sleep shorts before wandering downstairs, but I didn’t see any signs of Roman. Anxiety twisted in my stomach as I thought about Olezka leaving again. He didn’t act like it was anything out of the ordinary. He acted casual, but being called out to the field at five A.M. seemed like a problem. Then again, it was prime para hours.
I curled up on the couch with Anubis and started mindlessly watching TV, but my mind was miles and miles away. Sure, Olezka and I had finally explored our carnal natures, breaking the dam that had built since the day we met, but my anger still lingered. He was the one who reacted before taking a breath and ended up busting all our covers, yet I was the one he blamed it on. He treated me like a child who didn’t know better, but I never went in without a plan and a backup plan, and a backup plan to my backup plan.
I had ordered a powerful taser, which should be here in a couple of days. Sure, it probably wasn’t enough to knock most paras on their asses, but hopefully, it would startle them enough to give me a leg up. As Cyril and I approached the building, I’d searched for as many exits as I could in case things went sideways. Which they did. I breathed out, trying to calm back down. With Olezka, I found it easy to lose my cool, but I needed to argue with him calmly.
I passed the next few hours, lounging on the couch in a mostly vegetative state, waiting for one of the guys to show up. Since arriving back on this side of the Veil, my life pretty much revolved around the guys. Cyril had disappeared, but I still owed him a favor and knew he would show back up eventually. I still wasn’t sure why Olezka hadn’t ripped into me for that one, though I figured my day was coming.
I headed upstairs to shower, hoping it would pull me out of the funk in which I found myself. I let the hot water massage away my aches and pains; some were acquired pleasantly, some not so pleasantly. I dressed in jeans and a t-shirt then checked all of my online searches to see if anything of interest had popped up. Snooping complete, I wandered back downstairs to make a simple lunch. Still no word from Olezka, and Roman hadn’t returned home. I felt terrible forcing him out of his home because of mine and Olezka’s squabble, but he seemed to keep pretty busy.
Once five P.M. came around, I started to pace because I still hadn’t heard from Olezka, which was very unlike him. Sitting in an otherwise empty house, my anxiety had gotten worse.
I sat on the couch with the TV running as background noise and attempted to read. It was impossible to focus, and I found myself reading the same page four times. My brain kept flipping back to what happened last night when Olezka bit me. I didn’t think it was simply a love bite, but I didn’t feel different. I didn’t have Spidey sense, and I couldn’t leap tall buildings. Unfortunately, Olezka wasn’t here to ask.
That got me thinking about where he’d possibly gone so God-awful early this morning and why he still hadn’t returned. It didn’t seem like he thought he should or wanted to tell me things, which frustrated me to no end. I needed him to treat me like his partner. I needed –
Tik…tik…tik…tiktiktik.
My brows furled as I looked over at the window where I heard an unmistakable tapping noise. Anubis, who was curled up next to me, lifted his head, cocking it. I uncurled my legs where I had them tucked against my chest and stalked over to the window, peeking outside. The neighbor’s windows were dark; they were either already in bed or out for the night.
A head popped into view, and I jumped back, screaming at the top of my lungs as I tripped and fell on my butt. I peered up at Cyril, who watched me with humor creasing his features. I practically snarled at him. After catching my breath, I stood up and gestured to the front door. He came forward, cupping his hands around his face as he pressed against the window and peered inside.
I put my hands on my hips and rolled my eyes. I stomped forward and tried to open the window dramatically, but it was painted shut or something because it was impossible to lift. “Come to the front door!” I yelled through the window and pointed at the door again. When Cyril hesitated, I made a show of rolling my eyes. “Olezka isn’t here.”
Cyril nodded, his lips pressing tightly together as he went around the side of the house. I had the door open before he arrived.
“Really? Pebbles against the window? What are you, twelve?”
“What can I say, Seis? Your mate is terrifying.”
“Well, you’re not wrong,” I muttered. Olezka would dump him back in the basement cell the moment he saw him. And maybe maim him a little bit… or a lot.
“Where is your mate?”
“First, why don’t you tell me where you took off to last night? That wasn’t part of our deal. You were supposed to come back.”
“Yeah, well, I got a lead on my sister,” Cyril said. Worry pinched his features as his shoulders tightened with stress.
I gestured him farther into the house and shut the door. We had to make this quick. “What did you find out? Did you see her last night?” I asked innocently.
I didn’t tell him I knew he had and that I also knew what she looked like. While I wanted to believe Cyril, something about him made me hold back. He had his family to look out for, but so did I. And I knew what I would do to protect my family.
“My contact told me he had an idea where they might be keeping her but that they move her location often since Sentinel knows about the fighting rings and is trying to pin them. Your mate and his crew showing up last night was horrible timing. I’m afraid they’re going to move her tonight because of it.”
My mind started to twist around that. He probably wasn’t wrong, especially since the people who put on the illegal cage fights were most likely spooked by the “cops” showing up. But we didn’t know if they were aware of who they were…
“Key has spies everywhere. They know about you and your hellhound mate. Hell, everyone knows about the Volkov brothers. They’re going to tighten their security. If we’re going to rescue her, we need to move fast.”
“Maybe we should wait for Olezka,” I suggested, unease rippling through my midsection.
“Must you demean yourself by thinking you’re not enough for me?” Cyril said with a saucy wink.
I shook my head, a hint of humor slipping through. “I don’t, but maybe with him in the plan, we won’t have a screw-up like last night.”
“Or we keep him out of this, and you prove to your mate that you can hold your own,” Cyril bargained. He watched me too closely for comfort. I briefly wondered if an incubus could see more than sexual desire because he hit a little too close to home.
Olezka’s parting words stuck with me, exacerbated by the fact that I hadn’t heard a peep from him all day. Did he think I was so rash that I would rush out to find him if he called and said things weren’t going smoothly?
Even so, the responsible thing to do was stay there, wait for Olezka, and have him come with us.
“No, we should wait for him.”
Cyril’s features twisted with momentary anger, and his lips wrenched into a snarl. His dark forest green eyes lit up with p
ower, but it dimmed as I took a cautionary step backward. Rationally, I knew he couldn’t hurt me. Not without hurting himself, anyway.
“What if it was Ana?”
My lips pressed together in irritation. That was a dirty, low blow and one I had a hard time arguing. Sometimes logic went out the window when it came to family. I bit my lip and tapped my toes, thinking.
“Need I remind you again that I didn’t strike a favor with Olezka; I did it with you. You are bound by the contract we struck.”
“Why are you pushing this so hard? If you wanted to save your sister, wouldn’t bringing Olezka give us more of a leg up?”
“Look, to be honest, I don’t trust your assassin of a mate,” Cyril snapped. “He may have you fooled, but my sister has been trapped, working in the rings he’s trying to bring down. I don’t have much faith in him not arresting her along with everyone else, which would only make things worse. Now, as per our contract, I would like your assistance.”
It was hard to fight his logic. I didn’t know enough about Olezka’s position in Sentinel to know what he would do if he managed to get his hands on someone who knew the fighting rings' inner workings. But maybe I could get as much information as I could from her before she and Cyril skipped town. It would fulfill my favor to him and help my mate at the same time.
“Fine. Let me get dressed.”
“Quickly. We’re running on a tight timeline here.”
Chapter 15
Anastasia
This royalty shit was for the birds. Seriously, if I had to sit through one more grueling dinner of hella awkward silences and scraping of elegant silverware against crystal plates, I’d maul myself. As I suffered through another long meal with my father – sure, let’s go with that name – and Key, I reminded myself this was to keep Sixx safe. Key’s not-so-subtle threat against her made me realize I needed to think smarter and stealthier; work behind the scenes like Sixx.
Going out guns blazing was how I ended up being locked – and I do mean locked – up in a room for a week. My food was brought to me morning, noon, and night, and I had an attached bathroom so there was no excuse to leave. No one came to visit, and no one was allowed to speak to me when they dropped stuff off. I wouldn’t consider myself a super social person, but that first week nearly undid me.
